Many Bosch innovations that enable cleaner and more economical driving also make for more dynamic, more powerful engines.
Direct injection systems in gasoline engines and the common-rail system in diesel engines deliver highly efficient combustion. These systems lead to lower consumption and high torque even at low engine speeds.
Additional measures for gasoline engines, such as turbocharging and scavenging combined with variable valve control and valve overlap, improve the consumption and performance of direct injection engines. This makes for a driving experience that is more dynamic and responsive, e. g. when overtaking.
Here, too, Bosch shows that responsible, clean, and economical driving is technically feasible without drivers having to forego the benefits of dynamic driving and without automakers having to sacrifice the features that set their models apart.
