Functions designed to ensure comfortable driving and make the driver’s life easier are gaining in popularity among automakers and drivers.

As with safety functions, comfort can be enhanced by networking ESP® with environment sensor technology to expand existing functions and implement new ones. One such example is our adaptive cruise control (ACC) stop & go function. If the ACC system identifies a slower vehicle up ahead in the same lane, it adapts the vehicle speed accordingly and proceeds at a predefined minimum distance. In stop-and-go traffic, ACC can brake independently to a standstill and move off again automatically following a signal from the driver. ACC takes the pressure off the driver in situations ranging from heavy traffic to traffic jams.
