Worldwide, we play a key role in the development of components and systems for driver assistance.
In our Leonberg development center near Stuttgart, experts in fields from sensor physics, function development through systems networking are working together. Our systems are based on ultrasonic sensors for close-range monitoring, and radar and video sensors for the long range.
Within the next few years, driver assistance systems will be further developed from comfort to safety systems. In the medium term, the aim is to reduce the severity of accidents; in the long term, it is to prevent accidents caused by the driver's inattentiveness as far as possible. In order to meet the requirements, the abilities of the systems must increase many times over.
Bosch is a partner of the "best co-driver" (only german) information campaign organized by the German Road Safety Council (GRSC). The aim of the campaign is to spread information about Driver Assistance Systems (DAS) and to throw light on those systems which have already been developed.
