As the driver initiates a steering maneuver, the command is recorded by the torque sensor and communicated to the control unit. The control unit processes the signals and instructs the electric motor to provide steering assistance. The PowerPack can be located either on the steering column in the passenger compartment or on the rack in the engine compartment.
