The Multi Purpose Camera from Bosch is a scalable platform for video-based driver assistance functions and can be optimized for a variety of applications. Its modern optical system focuses images onto a high dynamic range CMOS sensor (imager). An analog to digital converter transforms the intensity and the color of the light into an electrical image signal. This signal is further processed by a high performance microprocessor integrated into the camera housing. This integrative approach does not require a separate control unit.

Our Multi Purpose Camera has been developed for comfort and safety applications such as Lane Departure Warning and Lane Keeping Support, Intelligent High-beam Control, Road Sign Recognition, Object detection and verification to support and improve radar-based functions like Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and the Predictive Emergency Braking System, Forward Collision Warning as well as Driver Drowsiness Detection.
