Engine-management System

Engine management

The task of the engine management system is to adjust the torque which must be generated by the engine. To do this, all variable quantities in the various part-systems of the engine control unit which can influence the torque (cylinder-charge control, mixture formation, ignition) are controlled.
The aim of this control system is to supply the torque demanded by the driver with as little fuel consumption and as few emissions as possible.

Customer benefits

  • Reduced fuel consumption up to 15%
  • Up to 5% higher torque
  • Spontaneous response behaviour
