In direct gasoline injection, the high-pressure fuel system is fed by the high-pressure pump which generates the required gasoline pressure in the fuel rail. The high-pressure fuel injector attached to the fuel rail meters and atomizes the gasoline at high pressure directly into the cylinder to provide ideal mixture preparation right in the combustion chamber itself.
